The ordinance of the village of Strasburg, North Dakota, was complied in 1908 and printed by the press of the Advocate, Linton, North Dakota, that same year.

The original name given to the Strasburg Station by the Railroad company was "Stafford."  However, most of the pioneers who came to this community were from Strasburg, South Russia, and circulated a petition among themselves for the purpose of having the station called "Strasburg" in honor of their former home in South Russia.

The first store building was erected in 1902 the year Strasburg was founded.
